I am offering lookups for the BISA. It is the first comprehensive index of the people of South Australia who lived in the
Colony during the first fifty years of settlement. The BISA is a good resource to find out where your relatives came from to South Australia.
Just give me as much info as as you can on your relative an i will try and help...thanks Steve

Hi Steven,
Sorry I didn't get back to you. I have been ill.
My James Stevens was born at Rotherhithe and was in his twenties when he arrived about 1850 and about five years later married a Mary Hackett. I have not been able to find shipping records or a marriage in any state for either so was hoping you may have come across something. Their first child, my grandmother, was born on Victorian goldfields in 1856.
. Thanks again ...Heather

Cheers again Steve, many thanks for your time, it was a great result and Charles was known as Chas. With the information you gave I have been able to follow up on the children..
Does the BISA information state where they came from ?
Once again many thanks.
