Trying to trace the birth place of my GGrandfather
Here is what i'm 100% Sure of to date ,,
Albert Charles Bossett,,, Born 1890 ,,, Unsure as to where,
Was a gunner in the Royal Artillery 1912,
Also a cellerman,,,,
His father's name was Joseph Bossett Mother unsure,,
He married Lydia Harriett Riley 30/8/1912...
Had daughter named Lydia Gladys Bossett same year 1912,

Any help to discover the year of birth for Albert and place would be great,
Also year of death ,
OH strange thing is he or his father does not show up on any census why??? any ideas??

Hi all
On Albert Marriage Cert dated 1912 Has his dad as Joseph Bossett Cellerman,
And Albert Charles Bossett as Gunner in Royal Artillery, Aged 22,
But i'v tried tracing via the 1891 census and 1901 census but nothing,
I'v worked out via the Marriage cert Albert was born 1890 as he was 22 years old on wedding day, so he should show up on at least the 1901 census but nope!!!!
Always thought he was from London but family info say's he could of been from Guernsey would that make any difference ? did people from Guernsey get put on census ??
Its so strange why Albert and his Father Joseph are missing from these census,
any thoughts?

I have noticed that Albert does not show up on any death reg??
I have been to FreeBMD and nothing not a sausage,
Only the Marriage between him and Lydia Riley , and he shows up on my nan's Birth cert same year 1912, but he nothing at all,
HOW COME???
Is this normal

Found this not that it really helps. Checked the census for Guernsey and couldn't see him there.

This is a total longshot, found this Joseph BOZZETT born London. I can't see anything else remotely close.

You could try BAssett. It's always worth switching the vowels around in a name if you're having trouble tracing someone.

Who are the witnesses on Albert's marriage certificate?

Ok two witness are
C.Bossett and A mumby,
I think Albert Bossett's father must of still been alive in 1912 as they don't have him as deceased but they do for Lydia's father John Thomas Riley,
YET saying all that why did Joseph not witness the wedding of his son? C. Bossett did instead hhhmmmm,

Its slowly driving me around the bend,
I know he was 22 when he got married yet i have gone two the year he was born two year both ways and nothing,
I am starting to think they started life as bozzett and for some bizzare reason turned to bossett.

Managed to find Alberts medal card on Ancestry now. He was awarded the Victory, British and Star medals. His Rank was corporal, 35th HB RGA. Regimental Number 28787.
