blackberry15 Report 15 Nov 2008 18:06

An additional fact on Cary Grant side of the family is his father Elias James Leach had a brother called John William Leach born 1899 died 1900, that why I was looking at our John Leach side but we haven't found the right year yet.
Thanks for info so far, what wonderful people you are!

Hey, it was fun, Joyce!
So does hubby bear a resemblance to Cary Grant?
Wish mine did. (Don't tell him I said that)

blackberry15

blackberry15 Report 15 Nov 2008 19:23

He has the colouring ie olive skin. Apparently Carys Grants mother is mentioned as having olive skin, that is Elsie Leach, but he doesn't have the full head of hair any more. Shame really, age comes to us all doesn't it.
Thanks again Joyce

There could still be a link of course. The John Leach aged 1 on the 1871 census could he have had a child John Leach who would have been born 1899 which is the date Cary Grant John Leach was born.
Hope this makes sense.
Joyce
