Good Afternoon Evie, Richard and Sylvia I am having problems with my scanner so I cannot scan the document in looking at the document maybe the E could be an C but it is a fatter one than the one used on Clayton wish I could scan it in for yous guys sorry!!!

But remember -- the info from the IGI was submitted by someone, and it could be completely wrong. It could also be the result of someone seeing the actual parish record and misreading the surname themselves.

If you can check out the Yorkshire parish records, that might settle it!

Someone here at GR has a Henry Clayton born 1779 in Yorkshire in her tree.

Might be worth a contact to see whether she knows anything more about hers!
