So now:
TRYING TO FIND:
Helen Crompton's marriage/details of children (Helen/Ellen born Bolton 1910)
Thomas Poole's marriage/any children. (born Blackburn 1885)
Any further children Lily (Poole/Crompton/Day) may have had with James Day.
Do you think it is worth starting a new thread for each of them?
Kind Regards,
Julia

There are no marrs of Thomas Poole in Skipton 1900-1927 (Skipton includes Barnoldswick), and there's 3 dozen in Lancs - none in Blackburn. I think you should try getting a name via the electoral roll. I did find the following:

Marriages Jun 1911 (>99%)
Donnellan Bridget Prestwich 8d 760
Dunderdale Emma L Prestwich 8d 760
Marshall Frank Prestwich 8d 760
Poole Thomas A Prestwich 8d 760

However, I don't think that's the Bridie you want since I also found:
Births Mar 1913 (>99%)
Marshall Benjamin Donnellan Prestwich 8d 588
Births Jun 1916 (>99%)
Marshall Frances Donnellan Prestwich 8d 527

The other problem, of course, is that he may not have been married at all in England yet, for some reason, he either said that he was or it was written incorrectly. There appears to be no record of a wife going over there yet my mum had written that they had stayed with Uncle Tom and Aunt Bridie. Maybe he got married over in America. I wonder if anyone has Marriage Records for USA handy. Thankyou for taking all this time to try and find the clues to yet another mystery!
Kindest Regards,
Julia
