thank you to everyone who helped on this post .i have been able to confirm my nana is violet alice taylor from morpeth.Strnge all of her children knew her as burns.Her first 3 childrens births had burns as her maiden name then her following childrens births had Taylor.So i have found her parents joh n (1864) and mabel l (1864) .am now wondering if her mum mabel was a burns or johns parents were burns .I have tried looking without sucess.any1 with a extra good search

It just says on the 1911 census site that Durham and Northumberland are two of the counties that are "coming soon" - whatever that means!!

Intresting looking back at that marriage index there is a Violet Alice Taylor that could fit the death entry?

If they lived in Trimdon or Wingate you won't be able to find them yet on the 1911 census as Durham is one of the counties that isn't on just yet. I'm waiting for Durham and Northumberland to be added myself.

is it possible to find this family in the 1911 census?..i have bben told my nana violet moved with her grandperents (sarahs parents maybe?)to trimdon or wingate when violet was a child and opened fish and chip shops.Also told her family came from Ireland originally.So wondering who this violet lives with in 1911..is any 1 in a position to take a peek.

The reason I put the Violet A Taylor marriage was that I have examples where I have been looking for a maiden name, but the lady was remarrying. The childrens birth records show her original maiden name, but obviously her marriage shows her first husbands name.

There was this:

Births Jun 1893 Morpeth 10b 401

Taylor Violet Alice

And I did find a violet Taylor on the 1901 census in the area who had a younger brother William.

yes irene that sounds like my nan ..i.remember i was approx 10 so fits and yes she died in c cleveland hospital so was probabbly registered death there.

I can't find a birth to match the date of birth given on the death record above, although dates of birth on death certificates are often wrong as it depends on the informant's knowledge.

3 births registered at that time for just Violet Burns which helps a bit if you check out those in the 1901 census - there maybe some family names that are used on the children of your Nan. Good luck Irene

searched 1911 census but does not show any Violet Alice Burns but quite a few Voilet Burns with both spellings. Irene

she died approx 1974 give or take a year ...and her maiden name is definatly burns .is on my dads birth certificate.

do you know when your nan died please. Ancestry gives the date of birth for some deaths.
Another option when was your parent born that was the son or daughter of your nan. That will give her maiden name on that record. Irene
