Margaret's birth was registered in June quarter 1880, but she is not showing herself to me in 1881. Maybe you'll find her.

Thank you i got to the bottom of it :-). Alec, Elsie's son was born out of wedlock because of an affair, i couldnt find the link from family easily because nobody spoke about after Alec was born.

The surname is misspelled in the 1881 census again, but searching for

Tom Coxworth
born 1873
born in Flixton

will find him, near the top of the results list. Then you'll see his parents' and siblings when you click on "view record".

If you search at FreeBMD, you should be able to find the births of Tom Coxworth and Margaret Annie Bannister.

And in the 1881 census -- which is free at Ancestry (it might make you sign up as a guest) -- you should be able to find them with their parents.

I'm sorry, the part I forgot to mention is that once you find one person, you *click on the page number* and it will show you the other names on the page.

There are usually four names on a page, and you can't tell who married whom without getting the certificate, but in your case we kinda know.

If you do that search and report what you find, Bianca, I'll be happy to give you the info about Elsie from the 1901 census (it's a little tricky).

Find Elsie's parents' marriage, and tell us their names!

Bianca, it's fun to find things yourself.

Elsie's name suggests that her parents' surnames were Coxworth and Bannister.

If you search at FreeBMD for a marriage with those two surnames, say 1880-1900, you'll discover yet another interesting fact about Elsie. ;)
