Thomas Holland b 1814 Cheshire, Coppenhall or possibly Crewe. Married Sarah Gregory of Wettenhall, at Nantwich. Moved about a lot, never found out why. Was a Blacksmith, presumed industrial. Lived Crewe, Sandbach, Coppenhall, Earlestown (Lancashire) and Uppermills, Yorkshire. His wife landed in Gorton, Manchester in 1871, same road as her daughter Sarah married to Edwin Ogden, and another daughter Ann. married to Eli Hancock, with her son William, my gg grandfather, then aged 13. Shortly after the 1871 cencus, in 1871, Eli Hancock died, so did Sarah Holland. That left Ann a widow, and William motherless. In Gorton.

For some reason Ann and William landed up in Rainow, Cheshire, and I have full details of their lives after that, but I have no idea what happened to their father Thomas.

There is a possible sighting in 1871 of him lodging with a family in Bollington, Cheshire (a blacksmith, which is right), and another two sightings of him in 1881 in Coppenhall with a new wife Jane born Mansfield, but also in Bollington, Cheshire, with a new wife Jane born Mansfield.

Was he registered twice on the 1881 census?

A lot of questions here, but I cannot find a death for him.

Anyone any ideas?

did he have a brother called Peter?
in the second 1881 entry do the children's name's tie up with the ones with Thomas and Sarah?
Need to check 1871 for Thomas and Jane in case this is another family entirely
