Thomas Holland b 1814 Cheshire, Coppenhall or possibly Crewe. Married Sarah Gregory of Wettenhall, at Nantwich. Moved about a lot, never found out why. Was a Blacksmith, presumed industrial. Lived Crewe, Sandbach, Coppenhall, Earlestown (Lancashire) and Uppermills, Yorkshire. His wife landed in Gorton, Manchester in 1871, same road as her daughter Sarah married to Edwin Ogden, and another daughter Ann. married to Eli Hancock, with her son William, my gg grandfather, then aged 13. Shortly after the 1871 cencus, in 1871, Eli Hancock died, so did Sarah Holland. That left Ann a widow, and William motherless. In Gorton. |
