Find Ancestors

Hi
I am trying to trace my dad's family and would welcome any information on them.
So far I know:
William Spencer (my dad) b1944 Hunslet, Leeds (have all info I need on his brothers and sisters)
His father - Walter Henry Spencer b1908 Hunslet, Leeds, married Nora Wintringham b1911 Hunslet, leeds (got lots of info on the Wintringhams)
Walter Henry had a brother called James known as Jim not sure when he was born but know he never married, William again no birth date, who married a lady called Hilda and then divorced, and married a Margaret Hope, they had 3 children I beleive and a sister called Irene Spencer, born 1927 I think who married a Clifford Allsop and lived in Nottingham and they had 3 children but I can find no record of this marriage or her death.
His father was James Spencer b1888 in HUnslet, Leeds who married unknown - possibly a Jenny Johnson
His siblings were Walter b1878, William b1879, Arthur b1881, Isaac b1883 (who was the uncle who brought Walter Henry up), Cecelia 1892 and Lucy b 1895.
Father was William Spencer b1853 in methley, Yorkshire, married Elizabeth unknown b in Leeds approx 1855. William Spencer was the son of Thomas Spencer b 1817 Holfenton, Dorset, England who married esther Watson b1823 Ledstone, Yorkshire. THomas and Esther also hadJohn 184, James 1844, Mary Ann 1846, martha 1848, Hannah 1851, Lydia 1856, Susannah 1859.
Thomas Spencer was the son of JOhn Spencer born approx 1785

Putting all this down it seems i have lots of info but I woujld love to go back into the 1700's and also find out what has happened to siblings of the various generations.

I am also really struggling with the more recent family, my grandfathers generations - Walter Henry Spencer b1908 and his brothers and sisters and his father and mother etc. I have posted on records about how to find more out about this.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

We may get a clue as to which one is correct as we trace the rest of them.

The only Elizabeth Coulter born Leeds appears to 1861. There is a Mitchell 1854 so coud well be that one.

There are also several people also researching Spencers from Hunslet on GR. It is worth contacting them even if they are different families. They may well come up with your records whilst searching for their own and may even have certificates ordered in error.
It can be helpful to know who your ancestor is not.

Christine, thank you so much for all this work you have done on the Spencer's, I am going to have to go back over the info I have to find out about Thomas and Esther but my dad knew about them so they were easier to find, as I had something to work on, I know Esther was difficult as she is spelt differently, Ester for example in some searches. I will get back to you though on what i know.
