Hi Vivienne,
Thanks for researching all of that for me! The more information i get the more confused i seem to be hah

In your first reply today with the 1881 cencus there is a John Francis who is 10. But he doesnt seem to appear in the 1891 cencus. Do you know why that would be? Also you say about the granddaughter Jane, who may have been illigitimate, do you know how to find her mothers name?

I'm a little confused as to how many Children Evan and Anne Francis had, and why Evan isnt with Francis in 1851 and he is living with the Hughes family. Also im just wondering if you would be able to find how many children John and Anne Richards had?

Alot of questions i know, sorry!
You've been a brilliant help so far!

john francis age 10 on 1881 is prob in service on a farm in 1891

very hard to find who the mother of grandaughter jane is without an awful lot more work unless a birth ref can be found to suit and cert is sent for

evan would have been working away maybe cos it was too far to his job to go every day and was in the proccess of finding a new one, often happened
,work or the workhouse, you would live in at work rather than no work and see your family on sundays.
will do a quick search for the richards in 1841 but to find all of their children you will be into parish records i think and will need to go to the national library of wales in aberystwyth or find them online if you are very lucky.

I think i will have to go to Aberystwyth then and see what i can find out. I only got information last night, and now thanks to you, ive gone back to around 1781! What site did you find all of this information on if you dont mind me asking?

Do you know why it says on some of the information "View Image"? Is there an image attatched to them?

there is no jane francis 1873/4/5 birth reg in machynlleth so maybe she wasnt reg
or was reg elsewhere
but to find that out you would need to write to the reg office and ask them to search the rcords for her, some charge some dont, and send every scrap of info you have
like poss mothers name, address, parish ,sub reg district etc
plus a cheque for £7 and a s.a.e and your phone number
