Not sure that James and Eliza (1851 census) are the parents of James (born 1816 - 1820) . If they are,why have they another son called James ?

There will be no birth certificate for James born 1816.

Registration didn't happen until late 1837.

On Ancestry Family Trees there is a tree for this family, unfortunately it only shows the two children listed on the 1841 census.

Now this looks very close to James'
family. On all Censuses he says he is born in Lymington, Hants.

It might be a good idea to purchase the marriage certificate for James's second marriage to Lucy (cant find first marriage to Louisa) to see the name of his father.

I can only find one St. John family in Lymington on the 1841 census.

This is the family above...I have posted 1841 census details.

I have found this marriage in Christchurch, Hampshire which is not a million miles away from Lymington
