Yes, must admit freeBMD is a great site, my first stop most times. Unfortunately nothing showing there at all.

I have been looking in the North Devon area, so don't know if Plymouth records are on Genogold. Have you tried free bmd

Thanks Liz47, I shall give that a try. Going on the births of the daughters, think Plymouth, Devon would be worth a look for a marriage if on there. Not been able to find it so far. But I've been told for some reason that that area and times all ifo is only accesible if actually going to the reg office. Not sure why this is or if even true.

Hi all,

After going over everything I have, I see the only way forward would be with a marriage cert, which unfortunately doesn't seem to be forthcoming.

And with no parentage for Minnie, that is pretty much a dead end.

My cousin uses findmypast & it seems she has found out no more than can be found on genes.

So all in all, I guess this is pretty much a dead end at the moment.

I would like to say many thanks to all who have tried to help.
But will check back regularly in the hope of something turning up.

Have found Minnie & Rosina on 1911 census, living in Plymouth, Devonshire. Rosina is down as Rose Ina, she was quite hard to find.

I am happy this is the correct mother & daughter. Rosina aged 11 in 1911.

Sorry if my info has been a bit haphazard or unclear.

My original request was mainly to find anything regards marriage or even info on other tree's to join Minnie & John.

Def info I have is as follows.

Minnie Williams formerly Opie b ? -
d 22/06/1932 (Plymouth Devon) (Have cert)

Have no parentage for Minnie.
(Family heresay being, a family member was named after females in family. Maud Melinda Rose. We believed this to be the mother & two daughters. We are now led to believe it to be, Grandmother & two daughters.)

Which would bring Malinda/Melinda being Minnie's mother.

Daughter Rosina Williams b.03/05/1898 (Plymouth, Devon)

John Williams father to girls, on both birth certs. And shows on various census pages. He is deceased prior to Mauds death.

No doubt anogg and I have looked at all opie options, my next thought is to find them on the 1911 census and see how long they SAY they were married for?
Next question just to confuse the issue, was she born opie or did her mother remarry ?

To answer your first question, On Minnie's daughters births' cert she is down as Minnie Williams formerly Opie.
