Hi Paula,
Thank you for your kind offer.

If you have the time could you please have a look and try to find a birth for my Grt Grt Grandmother, CATHERINE MCKENZIE.
She married Robert Ritchie in Markinch Fife 3rd December 1857, age given as 21, residing in Scotland Wells Portmoak.
That would have made her birth around 1836. Her Parents were ALEXANDER MCKENZIE & CHRISTINA OR CHRISTIAN ANGUS.
She is on 1841 census aged 5 born Perth
1851 aged 16
1861 aged 24
1871 aged 24 obviously a mistake
Can't lay my hands on the 1881 right now.

Catherine died on 3rd June 1883 in Markinch Fife but on her death cert it says she was 40. Should have been 47/48 or thereabouts.

So I think her birth will be around 1836 Perth but not coming up on Scotlandspeople. On the IGI there is a Katherine McKenzie b. 1833 Perth to a Christian Angus & Alexander McKenzie with some more children but I'm not sure about it.

I would really appreciate any help you might be able to give me.
Many thanks once again
Kath

Just wondered if you had noticed my message with a request for your Edinburgh visit.
II's just that you haven't made a reference to it & thought you maybe hadn't noticed it.

if your are going to scotland is it possible for you to find out where people are buried please cos both myself and my cousin(who lives in new zealand) have hit a brick wall we know where the person is not buried, but because we were only twinkles in our parents eyes we never knew the person. we are trying to find mary obrien moultrie she was born about 1880 in scotland(i cant remember where) and we think she died in aberdeen, but every web site that we've tried draws a blank, so if they have records in edinburgh do you think you could have a look for us, cos we've hit a brick wall. thankyou in advance

Hi their I am trying to find a marriage date for Harold Cutforth1917-1993 and Jessie F Haggart 1920-2003 their son was born in 1945 OAKHAM Leicestershire England. Jessie was born in Muthill Scotland and Harold was born in Oakham. I have looked through all the marriages for England and found nothing so I am assuming they got married in Scotland I have looked on Scotlands people but it only goes up to1933 .I would really apperciate if you could see if you can uncover anything for me.

Thanks fee

feefee Report 18 Apr 2009 14:30

Yes I would like to find out the date as well as who Jessie's parents were. I also have another relative that has got me stumped, my great grand parents John Milligan c1885 and Mary Mckellar Madden 3/02/1895 according to my father they never got married which leaves me stumped on how to trace the Milligan side any further. They had 10 children: Elizabeth Milligan c1914, Jean Milligan 15/05/1915, John Milligan 12/08/1917, Mary Mckellar Milligan 24/02/1920, Catherine Milligan 1928, Janet Hendry Milligan 04/06/1930, Anne Milligan 01/02/1932, Charles Milligan 17/03/1934, William Milligan 22/02/1936 and James Milligan c1938. I am unable to find a date of birth for Elizabeth and James. They were all born in Scotland. I did hear a rumor that my grandad was married to Isobel ? which is why my grandparents never got married.

Any help here would be greatly apprecitated
