Well, just read through all this again. Been sidetracked from the Roomes for a while, but just amazed how much we got through in such a short time. Thanks again to everyone for pitching in.

You have given me some leads that I didn't follow (I am trying to do too much at once), so rest assured I will follow them, and have not ignored them.

I have just 5 weeks to get the Cross/Clark family into some reasonable order for my daughter's wedding (present to her future in-laws) - which includes the elusive Wilkes Herbert, but they might have to do without him for now and accept an addendum.

Love to all

We must live in hope! While I still like the "four Walls make a Roome" theory, there's gotta be some explanation!

You see, if we can find the explanation for yours, it gives me hope there's an explanation for mine. ;)

Hi Choccy,

Been advised that I should not delete the thread as people might latch on later. Didn't quite appreciate that. So leaving it here for now.

Delete away if you have everything you need. Bit of a journey, but don't think there's 'roome' for more!!

Are we all agreed I should delete this thread now? I think we have exhausted most current avenues.

Wow ladies, you have done me proud. It will take me till tomorrow to absorb all this and decide what gaps I have. We still haven't found Susan, Lucy or Lizzie in 1881. Can't remember about Sarah Ann.

Off for something to eat.

Fascinating! I seldom think to look at Ancestry trees.

The one with Sarah Ann & Lizzie Rose has Joseph Carter Dallorzo only up to the 1861 census. So it doesn't rule him out as our Joseph Dallows/Roome!

It also only has Susan (Carter) Dallorzo up to 1871 - but doesn't have Lucy in the three at all.

That's a really interesting possible connection, if it turns out the tree owner is closely related to Lizzie or Sarah, say. Sarah's the only one they seem to have in 1871. The census record linked to for Lizzie is actually Lucy.

... As far as closely related, probably not, unfortunately. Hundreds of names in that tree. Er, thousands, I guess - 344 "M"s alone ...

Going to bed now!

Will have another look in morning - perhaps I'm going off on the wrong tangent. Still got to find whereabouts of Susan and Lucy ......
