Does anyone have experience of searching NZ records?

I'm trying to find births of Harrison children Ruth, Robert & Clive.
Parents William Ernest Harrison & Florence Ameilia Humphreys married 1923 in Dublin. Leaving for Auckland NZ soon afterwards.

Does NZ have electoral rolls and are they searchable?

Any help would be apprciated

NZ electoral rolls are searchable at local libraries and post shops, but not online.

So the children were all born in NZ?

Do you know where and dates?

I'm not sure where the children were born - I assume NZ but need to investigate - some time after 1923.

The parents were born in late 1890s so would have died in NZ.

The ERs - are they listed by street name? So I'd need to know the street in order to search?

I can't find them on shipping records - are you sure they came here?

Yes, the definately went to NZ, Auckland(?)
But they lived in Dublin and I don't know if passenger records from Dublin or Cork are available to search.

The 100year rule does that apply to Births, death and marriages

You can search for:

* Births that occurred at least 100 years ago
* Stillbirths if registered at least 50 years ago.
* Marriages and eventually Civil Unions that occurred 80 years ago
* Deaths that occurred at least 50 years ago or the deceased's date of birth was at least 80 years ago.

I'll have a hunt for the births - back soon.

Nothing yet - I have someone else looking too, so I'll post if we find anything!

Only one Clive Harrison in 1937 which prob not him as he may have been too young : Clive Magnus Harrison married a Gertrude Alice Skelton.

There are a few Ruth's.

Thanks so very much for taking the time to look. My cousin - who I'm researching our parents line with has just told me he thinks the name is HARVISON.
I could scream - 1. for him getting it wrong & 2. for me taking him at his word - I should have checked.

I have now seen and checked the marriage cert and it is HARVISON - the first names are correct.

Looks like parents came out alone in 1925

First name: William (including variants)
Year of departure: 1922 to 1925
Destination country: New Zealand
Travelling with: Florence Harvison (including variants)

They would then boarded a train for Auckland.
