In the 1911 census Stanley from Wem is shown in this family

Parents
Richard Healey - Head 35 (born about 1876) Hauling Contractor born Ketley Salop

Children
Hilda Annie Healey - Daughter 8 born Press Salop
Richard Dennis Healey - Son 7 born Wem Salop

This Stanley doesn’t appear to fit with your Reginald.
Reginald Healey who died 1940 (Dec Qtr Hendon 3a 846) was 56 years old giving a birth date of about 1884. There is a Reginald born in 1884 Oakham 7a 319 (county town of Rutland that you mentioned)
Your information from his marriage cert fits this family from the 1891 census

Ida Healey daughter 18 housekeeper born Burley, Rutland
Philip George Healey son 13 scholar born Burley, Rutland

What was Reginald's occupation?

Phyllis

Phyllis Report 8 Jun 2009 16:14

I have no idea which one could be connected to Reginald. But I'll contact his relative and see if she recognises any names. Although she would only have been a baby her mother may have talked to her when she was older. Thanks.

Have to go now .......catch up soon.

I have his marriage certificate to Nellie but as I do not know his first wife's name I have not applied, all I am tying it up with is the marriage in Paddington JFM 1908

I wouldn't have thought so...........check any road map. there's quite a distance between the counties.

You info seems somewhat disjointed.........have you thought of purchasing the cert of Reginald's 1939 marriage to find out his father's details?

Thanks for the Wem reference, I assumed it to be Wembly. No you have not read it wrongly. It is that far apart. Thats why it is all beginning to be difficult to tie up. Even if my grandmother had them, which my mother said she did not, the girls came young into the household, my grandmother was 49 when she married Reginald.

Although Nellie was my grandmother she also led a colourful life by all accounts. That was put nicely was it not.!!! The details of the two girls are a bit thin on the ground. They originally came to me via an Aunt and then I tackled my mother about them. She always knew them as her half sisters although through marriage they were not. She knew they were quite young but being a teenager at that time did not take the interest in them that perhaps an older person may have.

Anyway all this is sketchy, but when a seed has been planted you try to get to the bottom of it and I have been trying for some time to get a balance on BMD but nothing is tying up!!.

Another thought I have been in touch with a relative of Reginald and knew Stanley as Grt. Unc. Stan and they lived in Willesden area. They Originally, that is Reginald, lived in the Rutland Area.

Ah Ok .that wasnt clear re your nan living first with Mr Higgins But still its a bit odd for Reginald to have two young daughters still at home in 1939 and If they were your mums half sisters then they couldnt have been Reginalds because he was no relation to her other than marrying her mother,OR did Nellie and he live together and have children before marrying in 1939?
