Find Ancestors

You need to sort out what we have given you. Write it down on a sheet of paper. Then work out what information you have and what is missing. When it is sorted come back with specific questions. You may need to buy certificates to back up some of the information and fill in gaps.

You probably have enought to start forming some sort of pattern/story. We need to know what it is that is missing. Don't hesitate to ask.

Don't forget to include names, dates, places and the question you want answered when you add your new info. You are doing really well with your queries so keep going.

Tinkerbell do not bother about your spelling. You spell beautifully. It is all the keyboard's fault, it doesn't know how to spell. I need to follow up on the Australian angle for you. Just done an Ancestry search on all records.

Put in the following: Name Thomas Cumming. Date of birth 1835: Location: Tarbat Ross Shire Scotland

Ancestry search has come up with US National Homes for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers 1866-1938. Name Thomas Cumming
Birth - Location Scotland. Residence year City Milwauke Wisconsin.

There is a promise of more info but my membership does not include international so I damn well can't get into it.

There is also info on James C Cumming, John Cumming, Flora Cumming.

Same info US national Homes for Disabled Volunteer etc and also entries for Quebec Canada.

Don't know if I'm clever enough to make this work.

Tarbat parish includes the southern head at the entrance to Dornoch Firth. Portmahomack is 5km south of the head, on the western (i.e., firth) side. There is a ROC map with parishes at:
