I am searching for information on Elizabeth Ellen Macdonald /Mcdonald maiden name Gillick, born Liverpool 1867, married to Charles Robert Macdonald 1887(2nd wife) .In the 1891 census she was living at 30, Old Barn Road, Walton, Liverpool, with stepsons Charles aged 13, Fredrick aged 11 and her son William 1 year old.There is no mention of her husband Charles,who may have been away at sea.
I would be most grateful for any information on any of the above.

Thanks for your promt reply and info.
Your 1881 census for Elizabeth E Gillock is the wrong one.
Elizabeths parents were Peter Gillick and Ellen. Please keep looking!!.
Your 1871 census is a possibility, pity it does not mention father, he maybe away at sea.
Your 1891 census is correct and is the one I got my info. from for Elizabeth and family.
The 1881 census on Charles Robert Macdonald is "my family" prior to his second marriage to Elizabeth Gillick after the death of Jane.
I have a birth certificate for Charles H Macdonald (1881 census) he was my grandfather.
Of George Macdonald (1881 census) we have no further trace.

So bearing in mind the 1871 census and the fact that Elizabeths father is Peter, is this the parents marriage???

I wouldn't just rule the other 1881 census out yet, Thomas also fits in nicely, as does Ellen..........Robert may have been Peter, he is also a Mariner.

I'll see if I can tie Mary in with the Gillick or Mcneale side.

Do you have Elizabeths marriage certificate, if so what was the address she married from and who were the witnesses???

I think I would order the Mckneale/Gillick marriage certificate, this would give you Peters age and his fathers name...... hopefully then we could find some of his family.

I can't trace Ellen after 1871, she may have remarried, or died, however I would defiantely say that Elizabeth in 1881 with the Mc Kays' is your lady.
