Thiswould appear to be the Constance Somerset Girl found on the 1911 census (what a coincidence, her middle name is Irene!!!)

sorry it was irene registered in thetford not connie. her in bedford after they married the second time.

Oops Irene was registered in thetford connie and the other's were bedford.I think it best you order Irene's birth cert it may hold a lot of answers! Then again it could confuse the situation even more :-)

could be possible especially as connie was registered in thetford which is where they got married the 2nd time. maybe they got married and registered her straight away.

I think that would be a very good idea.

If Laura was pregnant with connie in 1905 married John then realised he was still married (other wife expecting irene?) she could have put off registering connie until 1907 after her and john were properly married then connie would be 'proper'.

why the descrepancies in connies date of birth. you say 1907, the birth cert says 1905- same as irene. prehaps we should get irenes birth cert and see who her parents are?

Thinking about it.... that's why constance is registered with Prebble as her middle name! Only it should have been Constance Pickles Prebble of course if parents weren't married at the time of her birth.

john was previously married to rachel wylde and they lived in halifax.

OOh er so maybe he bumped off his first wife??? haha i'm only joking.So he was leading a double life,I wonder if Irene was his first wife's daughter?that way connie and irene COULD have been born the same year.

quick update. we do have the marrage certs. In the first it shows them both as widowed but in the second it shoes john as divorced- so prhaps he wasnt divorced in time for the first marrage so they had to get married again. how do i find out about divorce dates?

Out of interest ask her if it's the original LONG birth cert

i will check and see if we have it. i am working with laura matilda pickles grandaughter on this- she has connies birth certificate which is what sparked the controversy.

If I were you I'd order both of Laura's Pickles marriage certs.

I wonder if there are two families here? Which have been confused?
Constance,Victor and Ruth are all registered in Bedford along with one of the Laura Prebbles marriages. But only Irene is registered in Thetford(which ties in with the other marriage). Why marry the same man in two different locations?

EDIT forget this,irene is coming up as their daughter on the 1911 census.Connie was definitely registered in 1907 perhaps you should order her birth cert?
