She should have been born 1867 according to her marriage certificate but around 1871 according to the census.

Do you know if Maud had a middle name? Do you have any of her children's birth certificates?

Don't think Maud's showed up on the census yet.

Could be her birth surname isn't Carr - if Federick didn't marry her mother. She could be Maud ???

However, Maud obviously was made aware of who her birth father was as she gave his name on her marriage certificate.

hi selena thank you for your reply yes she did have middle names they were cecila louise, i have all her childrens birth cert i think there are about nine altogether , i will list a couple for you ethel maud parrott born 1900.annie victoria born1895 , daniel edward alderdice born 1893.

there are trees on Ancestry which say her name was Maud Cecilia Louise Carr, date of birth 1867 - BUT NO HISTORICAL RECORDS !

I wonder if she is out there somewhere with grandparents etc.

Another thought, who were the witnesses on Maud's marriage certificate? Can you give their names and do you know if they are relatives?
