so i have spent some time with my mother and we have found out that this particular Arthur Freeman ends up in the navy at the same time my arthur freeman was in the somme.
i also found out that my arthur freeman joined the army, maybe when he left home, and was in india for a time. After leaving the army we are not sure what he done but we know about him working at sea. So inbetween being in the army he has gotten him self to new york and then began working on the ships. Then when war breaks out he goes back into the army. then back on the ships when he marries my great grandmother. Then he gets to ill to work at all.
So, i figure, he is either the Bradford notrh Manchester Arthur Freeman whos father Harry was a fitter or when he left home after the fall out with his family he has changed his nme. He has obvioulsy made up Harry Freeman who was a music teacher so who knows. I think my next step is militery records.
where is best to look for these?

You have to buy credits to view the 1911 census (although it is free to search).

It is quite expensive - over £3 to view one image.

Victoria, do you imagine there is a reason people are pointing out that you have "done lots of threads"?

It is AGAINST THE RULES.

It wastes people's time.

And every time you waste someone's time, that is one more person who will not be offering help in future.

I didn't know you had posted multiple threads about this in the past. I didn't know I was completely wasting my time.

So I'm one of those people now.

Please abide by the rules of the board and show some consideration for your fellow members of this site, who are not paid for their time and expect consideration.

Thanks for that, gee i knew there where some really nice people on this site, i didn't realise there were exceptinally nice people. (sarcasim)
I am knew to this, i DID NOT know how it worked and i certainly DID NOT do it to waist peoples time!!!!!!
I am desperate to find out about Arthur for his daughter, my nan, who has alsimers and has just gone into a nursing home and she has longed to know where her father came from since he died when she was 11 years old!!!
I wanted to find this out for her before her mind was lost completly.
So, thanks for making me feel great.
I APPOLOGISED TWICE, when i realsied i was wrong!!!!!!
so go ahead, point your finger. I'm going to continue to search from my Great grandfather, and i hope their are nicer, more forgiving people out there willing to help me.
cheers!!!!

You're ever so welcome. I mean, I'm quite sure you were thanking me for the effort I put into helping you, above on this page.

(There was no sarcasm whatsoever in what I said earlier. Does no one know what sarcasm is at all? It was a very straight statement of annoyance that in trying to help you, I had wasted my time.)

Remember, nobody else has mysteries to solve or elderly family members who hope to learn their family stories (not my 79-year-old mum, nope) ... and all the rest of us have nothing to do but follow someone else's red herrings around the boards ...

i am not getting sarcastic with you, i am not going to argue with you. I don't know you, nor you me. I would appreciate it if you just left this alone. I have explained how much this means to me. Its a VERY personal matter.
I have appologised and i am greatful to everyone who has helped.
I am not arguing with you on a thread.
Please, dont bother reading my threads if i bother you so much.
thanks!!!
