Thankyou, i'm starting to feel like Bolton is my town, i live in Bolton, it's a wonderful feeling that my family have been here for 200 years that i know of. The reason i started to research my family is that i was told, somewhere down the line we came from spain, but definately no evidence of that so far. Is it fair to assume Jas Heyes is Jasper?

I believe Jas is short for James

yesterday some amazing people helped me find an ancestor, i'll be heading to library tomorrow, to collect further info on this, with today being a bank holiday i wondered if anyone could find James Heyes born 1760 ish possibly in Bolton, married to Elizabeth. Don't worry if not, thanks in anticipation

There are 146 options for a marriage between James and Elizabeth.

This one looks promising though. Timing is good and it is in the same parish as Tatlow

i have 1811 as the death for Mary number one, second mary christened 1810? that seems strange, unless mary number one died in the december? you've been a brilliant help, i'm still searching for james parents, still no luck, can you work your magic?

If you live in Bolton you need to visit your local studies centre. They will have so much that is not on line.

The best source for Lancashere is Lancashire OPC

It is still be transcribed though and St Peters still has the relevant years missing. I think though that there is someone who will do lookups.

Google it!

The main difficulty at the moment is that the qverall search index is not working. Very frustrating and time consuming.

oh i know, i've been going there quite a bit, that's how i managed to get from my grand father to Tatlow my 4x great Grandad, then hit a wall, finding Tatlow's parents yesterday James and Elizabeth was fantastic as i'd been searching for and refs of Tatlow for a long time. Just getting greedy now, wish it wasn't bank holiday so i could go into town and get a copy of James and Elizabeth's marriage certificate!
