I cannot find them in 1841 or any other census........so can anyone help me find them on 41, 61, 71 census + their marriage, thankyou!!!!...................also trying to find a baptism for John c1816

is Elizabeth Ann's daughter as there is a big gap between Elizabeth & Ann ( daughter)

Please confirm that you have searched on freebmd for the marriage.

Well, William is 'stepson' so you have a lead there..................

Have you tried looking for their marriage on the IGI or searching this site to see if anyone else is looking for the family

I'm not convinced that John is only 35 in 1851 - I think the image may show him to be 55. Perhaps someone else would care to check?

the Tyefinch is slightly confusing...........John and Ann Jordans daughter Ann born 1843 married John Griffiths - they had a daughter Elizabeth b1867 who married Alfred PYEFINCH.............there is obviously another link to the Pyefinches andd think this was ment to read PYEFINCH not Tyefinch

the marriage fits but not the ages of the children - I'm getting confused now! It doesnt go with John being born 1816

It always pays to look at the original image , sometimes it can be a clear mistranscription, There is a facility to put in a correction for future searchers.

Stephen, I suggest that one or both of then have been married before and you should buy the marriage cert I found which will say, widow or previous married or maiden names.

Ckecking of ancestry there already is a correction and a postem which means someone else has you relative?

This is a relative whom I have documentation to verify name is incorrectly transcribed.

'Tyefinsh' is only how the transcriber read the image - suggest you look at it yourself to see the problems he/she would have encountered.

As I stated above, he is stepson to John Jordan......................so the marriage is clearly correct, and you can find out John's age (and father's details) by purchasing the certificate,

ALso - see my comments about 1851 - and 1841 census posted above !

Looking at the 1841 census found by Freewheel - could this be the death of John Jordan's first wife??

followed by the re-marriage to Ann Pyefinch in 1843 as stated by Freewheel.

The original image of the 1851 looks more like 55 years old for John, so bearing in mind that ages were rounded to the nearest 5 years in the 1841 census, this is very likely your John.

Ann is a widow on 1861 census, staying with her is John Pyefinch aged 10 grandson.

My line follows Ann Jordan b1843........looks like John is her father, Ann could be her mother if they married that year..........will have to try to find Anns birth record c1843 Ludford , herefordshire
