Eleven possible births on FreeBMD if she was born Elizabeth Miller.

jansmith Report 10 Sep 2009 19:51

Well get the marriage certificate and see what it says, that way you will know one way or other who she said her father was.

Did they not tell you this hobby of ours cost money to find thing out, the net does not tell you everything.

Looks like they could well have been born Miller OR Millar !!!!! - Only the certs will prove this !

I suggest that these two births are very probable ???

Births Mar 1915
MILLER Elizabeth Pygott Barton I. 8c 1263

Births Sep 1913
Millar Beatrice Pygott Barton I. 8c 1297

I will have a look further.

EDIT! ......OOOps! - perhaps not as I have just noticed the surnames are the wrong way round. - I will leave it on though as it still may be connected?

Now then, - I believe this would be the correct marriage this time:
(note the spelling - Millar again with an 'a')

Marriages Mar 1913 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

***Millar John J Pygott Barton I 8c 1087
Parkington William Waywell Barton I. 8c 1087
***Pygott Louisa Millar Barton I. 8c 1087
Waywell Elizabeth E Parkington Barton I. 8c 1087

Following on from Dea's finds. There is this marriage which looks like remarriage of Louisa to Riley, which is a name you mentioned.

Marriages Dec 1919 (>99%)

Miller Louisa Riley Barton I. 8c 1356
Riley Isaac Millar Barton I. 8c 1356

Thanks Christine - It looks like we 'have it cracked' then?

If only she would come back and take a look.

Thanks for the extra help.

P.S. - I was looking at this death for John? - It is in Wales but then Elizabeth apparently died in Wales so you never know? (Actually, that 'bit' of Wales is closer to Lancashire than you might think!)

It fits with the marriage you have found, and the children's births so it is possible:

Deaths Jun 1918
Millar John J 25 Hawarden 11b 276
