My friend has now got birth certificates for 2 of John and Rebecca's children and both show Rebecca's maiden name as DENNEHY.

I have tried Pilot search for the marriage with no luck and also Mary's suggestion of irishgenealogy.ie which has thrown up the birth of 3 possible children but no marriage!

Any other suggestions of how I can find the mariage of John COLLINS and Rebecca DENNEHY in Ireland please?

Thank you.

I have found what appears to be 3 baptisms for John and Rebecca's children in the RC Parish Church in Milltown Co Kerry but alas no records of their marriage that I can see. Any help to locate their marriage would be greatly appreciated by my friend.

Thank you!

Patrick

Hi Travelman,

I see that you're a long time trying to work this one out. I looked at the Irish census for 1901 which I'm sure you know is free to view on line and there are no Hollingshead listed but the are several Hollinshead, the nearest to Kerry being in the bordering county of Limerick. Ballymalis is about 5km south of the village of Miltown as the crow flies. I looked at the name Dennehy in the DED (District Electoral Divisions) for Miltown and there are no Dennehys listed although it is a Kerry name. Likewise in the same DED there is only one Collins listed, coincidentally a John Collins born in Kerry working as a servant to a farmer. I know that 1901 is later than the date of the marriage you are looking for but because their famlies don't seem to appear to be from the Miltown parish even though some of their children were baptised there, the marriage would appear to have taken place in a different parish altogether.
All the best,
Patrick.

Hi Patrick

Thank you very much for looking at this one for me - If you do find the marriage in any other Parish I would be eternally grateful!

Kind regards
