I've no idea who his parents where Marion,

Wrong one Starr.. although he did end up in London (before 1892) I can't find the family before the 1911 census.

How many years does it say on 1911 that they have been married?

How certain are you that the 1901 that was posted originally on here is not the right man? Just wondering how similar the occupations are - it says packer of some sort on that 1901

The older children in 1911 could belong to the wife - suggesting second marriage for him

Where did you get the where he was born from? Might not be Dunbartonshire.
He might not even be an Alfred lol. I've got a Daniel who was Donald when he died lol.
