Sorry for repeating freewheelers info ,but none started with Samuel Black

If that is the correct Mary Matilda Black then it is not Jane A Shacklock as she never married untill 1865.Mary Black also states in the census that she was born before 1865?

I've just had to chance to look at these responses. I got Janes maiden name from someone who has been helping me research my tree. The information I had about William Samuel Black is definetly correct (age 37yrs in 1881 census) and he definetly married Jane (age 38 yrs in 1881 census) but the maiden name I'm not sure going on secondary information. The information on the children is correct. Jane was my g-g grandmother and I wanted to find some information out about her. It said on the 1881 census she was born in London.

You really DO need to get the child's birth cert................relying on someone else's info - however well-intentioned - can lead to many wasted hours of research.

As this is your main family line i do agree with freewheeler certificates are a must have.

Like what please Olwen?

There is a lot of info on here already....What are you after please.

Also this thread is pretty old...Nov 2009.

If you want to contact the person that posted it you need to click on her name and send a private message and if she still has the same email then GR will notify her that she has a message.
Maybe you can say what you are after and we will see what we can do to help.

Please post what you have so far on the couple as that would be a big help as it will save people giving you info that you already have or is on here.

It seems to me though that it was a Jane A COWTON who married Samuel Black...

How did you arrive at Samuel Black and Jane Shacklock please?
Do you have a childs birth cert with those names on?

Thanks

I have information on both Jane A. Cowton and Jane A. Shacklock both married to Samuel Black with the same named children. Born in Middx and Atherstone and they both came to Manchester. I have birth certs of the children some say mother Jane Shacklock and some say Jane Cowton and father Bootmaker.
The Black daughters married one of my Hadfield Anceters thats how I came across the Blacks. But I'm leaving that side for now. Thank you for your help.

Thank you for the message Olwen.
Was it intended for Georgina really though??

It would perhaps have been better to reply on here but I am copying this message here so that people can see that you have replied and said thank you..
Which many dont unfortunately.
