arh i was thinking that john was married to a Ann Clarkson as their is a Ann Clarkson listed as her niece......just shows you can't jump to conclusions must be a more distant niece if you can do that

interestingly the John Smith a 4 on 1861 census (grandson) mother's maiden name was Smith - so who's son?
