There isn't a birth for Herbert F Leonard 1861-1865, the only Lichfield birth is Herbert Leonard in March 1863......... which I beleive is your man....... so I wonder if Fran??? was added at his Christening??

The first record for Herbert F Leonard on the New York Passenger lists states that his birth place was Lichfield

It also states that his DOB is January 8th 1864.... so ordering his birth certificate maybe the only way to know for sure if it's him.
