I have the marraige cert for Nellie to Karim Bukhsh
and my fathers birth cert

Nellie was born c1911 she married Karim Bukhsh 14/03/1930
My Father was born 24/01/1934 his father was an Abdul Gani
My father changed his name to David Lloyd years ago he had very little contact with his mother and none with his father..

Hence i no nothing ?
Except for Nellie's father being John Lewis Colley deceased by 14/03/1930

Where John or his daughter were born or died i dont know sorry :-(

So the chances are that John & Emilly are not my Nellie's parents ? not if she lost a child that year :-(
Ive looked for a Nellie Colley born in Cardiff there is another born a bit later but her father wasnt a Colley.

Nellie was a bit of a girl mind so telling fibs about her age to get married would be out of the question.
There is no Nellie Colley or Bukhsh burried here in Cardiff I've checked that ! she might have got married again though.

We certainly do Dea.
Nellies place and time of death could help a fair bit as it may have her birth date on it,if it is after the time when they were included.
Unless she is still alive of course,or died after 2006.

Not on the deaths front yet Dea but I found this marrige to go with your South Shields deaths.
Did Nellie and Karim divorce or did Nellie die before Karim?
Or is this Karim totally unrelated.

There is an Ellen Elizabeth Colley b 1910 Dec Q Neath 11a 991
Does anybody have the access to 1911 to check her out as to others in the household?

I had thought that Mary G Colley b 1911 might be known as Nellie but that was knocked on the head by the fact that she died in the same quarter she was born (Dec 1911) 11a 388
This makes it very difficult to see how Nellie could have been born to John and Emily in 1911
My next thought was perhaps she was actually born before the marriage and her year of birth adjusted for reasons of respectability but I have checked for a Nellie Bitters and not found one
I also cant find with certainty the death of the 1890 John Lewis Colley before 1930
Think I have run out of ideas -how about you Viv?

My God so many replys in such a short time right this is what i have:

Nellie Colley (Age19) was my Grandmother I have her Marraige Certificate to
Karim Bukhsh 14/03/1930 only the father named as John Lewis Colley (Deceased) Coal Trimmer.(My G Grandfather)
Nellie living at
5 Nelson Street Cardiff.

Both witnesses are from the Husbands side.(Ali)
I then have my fathers birth Cert 24/01/1934 where Nellie was living at 32 Loudon Square, Cardiff (House Keeper)

Im of the thinking that the Tenby Colleys are the ones ? but i need to see the 1911 Census ?

There seem to be two generations mixed here
The 1887 marriage is for John Lewis Colley senior to Mary Jenkins

1891 has that John aged 23 Seaman b Liverpool and Mary 22 b Tenby lodging in Cardiff with George and Ann Gibbs. With them are Arthur Colley 2 and John Lewis Colley junior aged 7mths both born Tenby
