the marriage details.
7th June 1875, parish church, Boston, Lincolnshire,
Tom Chambers Exton aged 23, Bachelor, tailor, address 35B, James St. father Robert Exton , tailor.
Annie Moore, aged 20. spinster, same address as Tom, father, William Moore , labourer.
wittnesses, Edward Exton and Ellen Jessop.

Well, if my theories are right her Grandfather was William Moore -so maybe she used that to avoid having to put a different surname to hers for reasons of respectability
I've done this long enough to know how unreliable fathers names and occs on marriage certs can be

I have 2 marriage certs for my D.I.Ls tree and both the fathers named on them turned out to actually be the Grandfather of the bride ,not the father.
Beats admitting you dont know who your father was or he has a different name as he wasnt married to your mother!

Up to you, Elaine -it would prove my case or not! I do think I have the right family and so it seems do my fellow researchers but it would be nice to have it confirmed

It would have helped enormously if you had said at the outset that you had explored the Blanchard theory!

a big thank you for your time and help,
looking again at the Blancher theory, what am I missing,
John Blancher ( who we know his father was William Moore , )
John Blancher /Moore , married Rebecca and started having children.
one being ,Ann Blancher born 1855,
in 1861 she appears to be with the family in Gosberton.
in 1871 she appears to be called Ann Moore a servant from Donington .
then in 1880 marries Uriah Wiles,
in 1881 she is living with him in Old Sleaford , Lincs , aged 25, born Donington.
so this Ann fits in perfectly with this family,
but my Annie Moore does not , because she married my Great granddad Tom Exton, so this is why I don't believe the Blanchers are my line,
please don't give up on me, if any of you know what I should try next , please let me know.

I dont think the Donington Ann is yours -your Ann is shown as b Helpingham in 1861 census and her brothers b Gosberton which explains why she thought she was (and may have been) b Gosberton, but you will only make sense of it, I think with the marriage cert of the other Ann to Uriah Wiles

The Marriage cert arrived today,
for Ann Blancher to Uriah Wiles,
they where married at The Primitive Methodist Chapel, Little Hale, nr Sleaford. on13th July 1880.
she was 25 and he was 23.
her father was John Blancher a farm Labourer.
one of the wittnesses was her sister Martha Blancher.

where do I go from here . polite responses only please. I am delicate.

Well, thats my house of cards collapsed -it just shows in this game you can never be certain!
I didnt think relationships were shown for witnesses at weddings but the Ann I had been following certainly had a sister Martha who in 1881was a servant (nursemaid ) in Boston to the Thomas family so she was handy for the wedding
Will seewhat I can find for Ellen Jessop the witness at the Exton wedding

Ellen Jessop is no help she was born 1859 Gosberton daughter of William and Damaris and was a 12 yearold servant in 1871 to Samuel Baxter in gosberton so she looks like a friend of Annie rather than a relative -think we need fresh eyes here!!

at least it seems to point to my Annie Moore and the Gosberton link not being a red herring,
I have a couple of days off work now,
to try and delve about.

Still have not been able to find the parents of my Great grandma Annie Moore, so frustrating, cannot take my line back any further.
