James may have been born before the marriage......I can't find a birth for him in Auchterarder where the census says he was born. He is not listed there under Lennie or Manning

I have looked at the original census and the changes I have noted are correct

I didn't mention a marriage what I have for 05/12/1846 is the birth of Thomas and Ellen's son William.

I have looked now though and what is recorded is the proclaiming of Banns for Thomas Lennie of Errol and Helen Fletcher of Kettins the Banns were read 1st and 2nd on 23rd Nov 1845 and 3rd on 30th November 1845

Melody, have you got the actual marriage cert for Thomas & Helen?

Oliphant's Vennel is still there although it's changed a bit since 1880

Am I reading this right?
Aileen says that Thomas Lennie died 1870 aged 69 years so he was born 1801.
If he married Helen in 1845 he was then 44 years old. Helen was 21 years younger - young enough to be his daughter (but mt husband is 22 years older than I am)
Richard was born in 1861 when Thomas would be 60 years of age and then when Christina came along in 1866 her father was 65 years old?
I know this isn't impossible - just wondering if it's accurate. Melody - what do you think?
