Susanah and Orham are down are grandcild. I have tried several times to find a birth record for these children to find out who their parents were, can anyone help please?

As I said Hannah was a bit of a character, she had Edwin,Sarah, Thomas and Harriet before she married, (thomas being my great x 2 grandfather) she then married Thomas Pemberton in 1872. I have cert for that, I think they must have had a domestic in 1881 and she changed the childrens names and put Thomas as a lodger!

Thomas was actually a widow, he just forgot to put that on his marriage cert to Hannah. His first wife died about 2 months before he married Hannah

I don't think the Children are Horams/Orams he is too young. I searched every possbile way of spelling for a birth record, before asking for help. I thought if I could find a birth ref the easiest way to do it would just be to order the certs to find the childrens parent

Oh Linda, you should have told us that at the outset. We have all been searching for the fella like mad.

You say she married Thomas in 1872, but Janey has just found a marriage in 1870 - whichever it is, who is the father of all those White kids in 1881 and the Pemberton kids in 1891? Including Oram.

So in 1881 the pair were married, but Hannah and kids were all named White and Thomas was a lodger. Most odd.

Never mind overloading us - is there anything else you know that might be useful?

Asking for help with the search without giving the available information -- like the fact that the older person in the family with the same name was actually registered with the spelling Oram -- just isn't helpful, sorry.

I've tried everything I can think of and come up with nothing. It doesn't help that their birthplace in 1901 is a ditto to Darlaston which makes it maybe a little suspicious, it could possibly be Sheffield (hence the interest in that Hiram understandably).

Yes, you confused us, but let's forget about that now and deal with what we have.

Oram 1875, son of Thomas Pemberton and Hannah White. Born Dec. Walsall. Two possible birth regs so I assume you have the right one. Can you confirm that? Have you tried them both? What did the other one throw up?

In 1881 there is Hannah White with children, Horam b 1876, living Staffordshire.

In 1891 there is no Horam, either Pemberton or White. Hannah Pemberton and other children

In 1901, there is Orham Pemberton, b 1876 and Orham Pemberton b 1893 in Sheffield, and several siblings born Darlaston. Hannah is married, not a widow.

I think I have just posted the 1911 cencus.

So what is it you still want to know?
