Cherilyn, if you need something to get into, lol, can you have a look at below, page 2...
If there's anything you can uncover from Geoff's find...(a different man from William of Rosemary it seems, caused confusion!)

Thanks

Chris :)

Hi Margaret

Not sure where you mean...could be Gympie or could be Gippsland? Or maybe something else!

Do you know which state of Australia it was? Did his daughter and wife travel with him? Do you know his parents names and/or year of birth?

Cheers

Hi Cherilynn,

I am looking for Henry Clarkson born 1852 London with parents Thomas Clarkson and Emma Mary Smale. I last saw him in the Electoral Rolls in 1928 with wife Elizabeth Ferguson at 19 Newry Street North Fitzroy. I am wanting his marriage to Elizabeth and his death if you can find it please. He married in 1884 in Melbourne Elizabeth Margaret Muirhead and had 3 children Emma, Thomas James in 1887 and John Henry in 1892. His first wife died in 1906.

Thank you
Liz

Hello Cherilyn,

You kindly helped me a couple of years ago.

I am looking for Annie Elizabeth SCOTT b. 1855 Castlemaine, Victoria. Her parents were John Scott and Alice Ann Morris. They had two other children but both had died.
I have a story that Alice left John and sailed to America with a man named Edwards, whom she married. I cannot locate Annie Elizabeth and have found a record in California of an Emma b. 1855 Australia with Alice Edwards age 35 b. England which tallies with her birth date.
Can you see anything of Annie Elizabeth Scott in Victoria please?
Warmest thanks,
Reece

Hy Cherilyn , Iam trying to trace one of my auntie,s .my mams younger sister Charlotte C Nash ,who was a nurse at Hull Royal Infirmary in england . I 1953 my aunty and 5 other nurse,s went to australia on an exchange scheme to The Royal Victoria Hospital in Melbourne, 6 nurse,s from this Hospital went to Hull E ngland. It is most likely this lady as passed on ( born 1923 ) in grimsby Lincolnshire England. The last adresse i have is from about 1957/8 and was in the army ,stationed Larkhill near Salisbury Wiltshire. Her adresse at the time was (119 Gipps Street East Melbourne Victoria Australia,I have tried over the best part of about 8 or so years to get some info from varioussite,s and writen to dozens of people no luck, the lady might have married and left behind some family which i would like to know and add them to my family tree . I never met this lady but my dad when he was around said she was a great lady and he would miss her alot so it would be nice if I could find out what happened to her. Yours for now Percy W Traynier Thankyou

Liz, this could be 'your' Henry with an error for father's name - age fits

Surname: Henry CLARKSON
Father: Clarkson Hy
Mother: Unknown UNKNOWN
Death Place: GISBORNE
Age: 68
Year/Reg No.: 1921/1833

???

EDIT:
Yes this must be him - see death notice from NLA Trove newspapers online:
The Argus, Saturday 26 February 1921
CLARKSON.—On the 20th February (suddenly), at Gisborne, Henry, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Margaret Clarkson, and loving father of Emma (Mrs. A. Sargeant, 10 Baxter street, Toorak), Thomas (deceased), and Jack, aged 68 years. For many years Prahran resident. Home papers please copy.

See http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article1738190
His wife's death notice - http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article10019506
And son: http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article10497342
Elizabeth M and son Thos are buried at Oakleigh - headstone photo available at http://www.australiancemeteries.com/vic/monash/oakleighdata.htm

John Henry must have been known as Jack, he appears as Henry John Muirhead in death above (not to be confused with the other JH!)

Here is Emma's death in case you don't have it - she was born 1885 Prahran (reg 27954), her husband was Arthur:
Name: Emma Elizabeth SARGEANT
Father: Henry CLARKSON
Mother: Elizabeth MUIRHEAD
Death Place: MALV
Age: 89
Year/Reg No.: 1975/10558

Percy - could she be Charlotte Cook NASH?

A lady by this name appears in Victorian electoral rolls from 1963 through to 1977, living in Melbourne city. There is no further records after this time but anyone with full access to Anc* or via libraries should be able to see where she was living and who else was living there.

No death found. Many nurses from this era did not marry.

Hope this helps a little. Good hunting.

Hi Reece

Sorry no luck, definitely no marriage for her in Victoria up to 1888 in any case.

It is quite possible her mother took her with her to America.

Too many John SCOTTs to work out if he remarried or when he died either.

Good luck with your search.
