Carol Report 23 Jan 2010 17:54

I am trying to Find Fanny Sheppard nee Williams born abt 1851 in Birmingham Uk.
married to Henry Sheppard born abt 1845 in Birmingham.
After 1871 they seem to have disappeared.
Fanny registered Henry`s death in 1903.
So where were they between 1871 and 1901 and were there
any children.
Fanny shows up as Hanny on the 1871 census
I would be grateful for any help.
Regards
Carol

Do you have an address from the death cert. - if so, can have a look to see if they were at that address in 1901

The death cert. does state Fanny is his wife?........just its possible she could be a sister or something if it dosn`t.

Have trawled through all the census and can`t find any trace of either of them....not even Fanny in 1911.

I have looked also and cannot find them or Fanny in 1911.
The 1871 census def says wife for Fanny and Henry's occupation was Gun Finisher. Even searched on occupation in 1881 to no avail.

Have just trawled through all the 65 homes in Grt Hampton street in 1901....there is no one with the surname Sheppard of any spelling.....

Thanks Carol for the confirmation....does it say he`s still a Gun finisher?

The 1886 marriage wouldn't match the 1911 couple in that they say they were married for 35 years. Doesn't match 1903 marriage either mind! The 1911 Samuel Hayes is a provision dealer.
