TO THINK IVE BEEN REPORTED FOR ABUSE ON A THREAD FINDING MY FATHER I NEVER GIVE ABUSE IN A THREAD WAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO TO GIVE HELP FREELY AND BE REPORTED TO SAY USE ABUSE
the threads ive help on finding father most answers been deleted
the letter from genies said something will not be reinstated im not gonna loose sleep cant the person in question write a message to me amd explain abuseto them its not in my nature i can let fly if someone proves me

Havn`t seen the thread concerned Starr........but sorry to hear you `ve been reported, hopefully GR will see no abuse has gone on....... it does make you lose your faith in people though dos`nt it.

Your such a help on many threads I read and contribute to myself, please don`t let this matter put you off helping people in the future.

Same thing has happened to me for no apparent reason. I couldn't check because the thread got deleted.

Was it the same sort of topic Andy?

I know that some people are a bit sensitive about looking for living / possibly living relations. But reporting someone for abuse seems a bit heavy!

Could it have been a mistake? I've occasionally had replies from people I have tried to help stating that they have got in a muddle and clicked on the Request review button in error. Just a thought - hope it makes you feel a bit better. Cx

I don't know what it was. I just got a PM to say that one of my posts had been reported. No explaination at all, so I don't know who reported it or why.

I'm sure you have the support of all of us who regularly read your replies helping other people. Don't lose any sleep over this one. Just have another shout on here if you feel angry still.

Didnt see it but maybe a family member/friend/new family etc, spotted it and didnt like it being there. As i said I didnt see it. I'm only guessing.

If you do press 'Request Review' by accident, as I have done a number of times.... it won't be sent unless you actiually fill in a comment.

Don't even think of giving up.

Rose is quite right though ......... if you click on Request review, it takes you to a box, and it is IMPOSSIBLE not to know what you are doing. It even reproduces the posting that you are complaining about!

I then came back to the thread, and edited the posting to show the result




However, when a posting or thread is removed for "abuse", then it seems impossible for it to be resurrected. Or to get a reasonable response from them!

ive just told my hubby and guess wat hes up in arms hes told me not to help anyone if thats how people are going totreat you and make me vunerable
at moment im doing nothing and hes said that hes not renewing my subs in dec hes not gonna have my name an character made to look like i give abuse out so im gonna see wat happens about my membership i new i shouldnt of told hubby hes so protective towards me
anyway no more said to him im waiting for a reply from a email i sent gr about them saying abusive

Starr, it never fails to amaze me how the moderators of this site can make such arbitary decisions based on one person requesting a review. I've never come across any other system in this country where you don't have the right to be heard but GR seems to think that if one person accuses you of something then you are automatically guilty and that's that.
I'm desperately sitting on my hands tonight as someone who threatened to report me a couple of weeks ago has suddenly re-appeared. I want to say to others "don't go there" but she'll report me.
Instead I'll ignore the person I know to be a problem and carry on in whatever way I can trying to help other people. As you have always done so well!
Think of how many people you have helped. Then think of how many have complained.
Then make your decision about what to do in future.
(Incidentally, I've been searching, as probably have others, to find the thread you refer to but no luck)

you know, there are some people on this site, just as there are on others, who seem to get their jollies by reporting people.


Thye seem to do it just for fun, and to see what reaction they get.

GR, and its sister site Friends Reunited, don't help by the fact that they seem to automatically remove a posting that has been reported, without checking to see if it really was abusive.

They deny it of course ................................ I'll bet that the reply you get back from them will be very non-committal, won't tell you why it was considered abusive



Just please don't let it stop you from posting on here or helping other people.

morning all thinking back there was one person who said she reported me SHE is still helping people but this one who done the reguest button

all i can say is the female in questions name 1st part starts with J
