so you have found that my eliza was a widow on the 1851 census
is there a chance you can find her death & do you think the children listed are hers

Up to Amos the children are hers and Thomas Robert and Amos all born Ipswich Suffolk. William and Joshua are her brothers and John her father. Richard Clark 27 born Lambeth Surrey is her Lodger with wife Emma 27 born Lambeth Surrey and the other name is a Lodger born Woodbridge Suffolk.

Have looked for a death for David about 1871 and 5 years -/+ nothing that I can really see. There are 3 deaths in Middx for a David Clark.

On that census Richard is a fitter.

William is a Sawyer and Joshua is a Stoker.

I can't find the birth of Amos Clark in Suffolk!! I wonder if they were born in Suffolk or not?? and it was just put down as Suffolk because the mother and her father and brothers were?? If you were'nt born in that parish and wanted releif they sent you back to where you were born. Then there is the other question " Where are you from?" meaning born and they would answer where they came from before!!!!!!!!! like Middx................
