I've come across several examples where May and Margery were used interchangeably in 19th cent Aberdeenshire. I had heard that, more generally, May was regarded as a pet form for Margery and Margaret, but I've come across no other instances of this. |

9 seems a little young to be in service. 12 or 13 would be more likely. |
