I can confirm the birth details for Cecil Henry Chiverton, but can also add that he died in 2004 and his birth date was 17 Apr 1920. |

Oh quite possibly a boundary change, I didn't even bother to check. I well know where Reddish is, right on the border of Lancashire/Cheshire. |

What's even odder, Meg, is that the 1911 census match for Laura came up when I asked for "Cheshire" - and she is living in Reddish - but it says she is born Reddish, Lancashire. Maybe some boundary change during her lifetime? Or maybe her family were just rubbish at geography! Actually I suspect what happened is that her dad (who WAS born in Lancashire) just got a bit lazy with the form and "dittoed" the Lancashire. I'll take a look at the original. |

Reddish and Romiley are adjacent. Odd that Reddish is classed as Lancashire. Maybe my history of the area ain't so tip-top. Stockport is Cheshire. They are all in the same area anyway. |

Ooh, that is great news to me Rachael. Bored out of my skull at the moment, and I live in the Stockport area. |

I would love to take over, but work is preventing me from doing too much at the moment. |

And a James Wagstaff of a similar age is in the same area: |

This is the only Laura Dyson in Cheshire in 1911 census - and it just so happens to be in Stockport: |

I forgot to look for that spouse to James Wagstaff - she is Laura Dyson. |

Having gladly found all that, do you want to now research further yourself, cos I don't want to spoil your fun. Or would you like me (and others who are no doubt keeping an eye on your thread) to carry on with more? |

Thinking again, you probably don't need Hilda's birth cert. It seems pretty obvious who her parents were. |

This is the marriage of Hilda and Cecil: |

Brilliant, thanks for your help |

Rachael, you have misunderstood what I sent you. This is the likely birth of Hilda Wagstaff, with mothers maiden name Dyson. Seems 99.9% likely to be her. The registration of a birth would not include details of anything other than the child's parents and possible address at birth (thought that might be a hospital). |
