Find Ancestors

I have a hunch that the George William Hancock that Gillian found is really yours,despite the age on the 1911 census.
Trouble is,I doubt if you'll ever be able to prove it.

Since Eliza re-married so quickly and George isn't deceased (or is he?) it's probable that they were never married. Divorces were costly.

Any idea if George William re-married?

could george william hancock b sept 1878 wilts son of thomas hancock and janes skues/skews wilts be the george william i am looking for

birth date for rosina is 14 oct 1903 and only have 1901 for gladys and from what i can make out they were all born or spent most of childhood at 7 wine street, bath

i have reference for marriage of eliza and william smith but havnt managed to do anything with it yet

i can say maureen that eliza remarried in sept 1913 to william george smith but i cant find anything with him either

And the truly annoying part is I can't find Rosina and Gladys in 1911 !

yes the only thing i can say from family is that gladys was definately my grans (rosina) sister but finding the father and mother of george seams very elusive the proverbial brick wall has hit me on this

you have the right roberts family but cannot find a marriage for george and eliza, i think glady`s was born prior to marriage but i think the marriage year was 1903
unfortunately my final contact with person who may have known was john hancock born to frances mabel hancock who`s fathers name was saunders (possibly) but he died before xmas last year. frances married herbert clifford after john was born and they had three more children

I have checked out the names I listed above in 1911 and can find none of them with a George and Elizabeth so back to the drawing board

The only Gladys I can find is 1903 Sep Q which would not be possible if Rosina is correct above

If hewas born 1886 as you suggest that makes him 15 when Gladys was born -possible but unlikely

I wonder about this one
Georg William Hancock baptised 10/11/1879 Corsham Wilts son of Thomas Wiliam and Jane. You will find him with them in the 1881 and 1891 census and on his own as a boarder aged 22 as G W Hancock
