I dont know anything about Turner family only from John to present day! All I know is that JOHN TURNER born 1839 St Pancras Middx married ADAH BUCK in Dec 1861.
His father HENRY married MARY (-but was it Mary Ann Harold Hayson on 26/8/1839 or was it Mary Ann Clarke Hodgson on 21/8/1839) both St Anne Soho Westminster.
I dont know when or where Henry was born I presume London area late 1700's to early 1800's. Am looking for siblings to try to establish parents!.............HELP!!!!!

I looked at all the pages of the 1861 census that Adah was on to see if there was a John Turner living near her. I only found a lodger George Turner on all of the 47 pages.

Now I am wondering about this family on the 1841 census with father William Turner who is a Cabinet maker with wife Ann. Perhaps they used their second names as a lot of people did. This William turner was not born in Middx where they are living. As you know the 1841 was not very informative.

hello again,
We agree Henry is Johns father and that he married Mary Ann - just need to know which one. I am still curious about any siblings for John and a few names have been put forward Sarah,Ellen,Emma & Miles as these were all born St Pancras around the same years as Johns birth. Are they related to Henry and John or just a coincidence - unfortunately I havent the full access to find out.As I said from John and Adah I do have information to present day - its Johns parents and any siblings that are causing grief!

Hopefully Ann, if Ancestry can get their problem sorted it may provide an answer.

Thanks

Hi Mel,
just a quick thank you before I switch off again.
Glad your mom got on ok today - what a way to spend the day! My other half had to have an endoscopy and biopsy - the results will come in about 2 weeks - so its fingers crossed for him.
Thank you for looking for dear old Henry, I will have a proper read tomorrow.

All the best - Lynne

Ann I was just wondering if that Henry that was a baker was down somewhere as Confectioner Baker and it has been read as Cabinet Maker that was all.

Lynnedee Report 9 Apr 2010 19:15

Hello Ann and Mel,
Henry was a cabinet maker but I can see where you are coming from with the baker. Also he could have changed his occupation I suppose - but yeah, he was a cabinet maker .
Wish Ancestry would get themselves sorted that may solve the problem for us all!
If my relatives had odd names they would be easier to find - not as much fun maybe - but most certainly easier! I did have one relative NIMROD - goodness knows where his parents got that forename from in mid 1800's but there you go! Lynne
