M.A. (hons) Ph.D ???? My giddy aunt!

Actually, I was hoping to be interested by this post because the name Holdsworth in Yorkshire means something to me - not personally - but to do with a country house I know well. I think I am to be disappointed.

I doubt David is following this now Ann - I think the word 'pain' is quite apt. lol

Thank goodness these sort of requests are few. I have only ever received one of the same ilk as this, again with terrible English, which completely threw me as I misunderstood what they were trying to convey. Instead of writing their answers on the board I was sent a p.m. It nearly put me off trying to help people in future but knowing how helpful others have been to me I put it down to their manners not mine. To the Anns and Cynthias of these boards please accept that you have many posters who empathise with you. - JLe

I'll try to remember to ring you, or pm you on Sunday to remind you, but please don't bank on it.... just change it if it doesn't suit, or you are up answering dodgy requests for info (sniggers) all night, lol.... I shall sit in the corner and tell the world I have been stood up by my date if you don't show, lololol ;¬)) but that's ok, cos I can go to my mam's or watch out for my nephew skipping school..... that'll surprise him ;¬))

Can I suggest a read of the comments on this site:
http://careandsupport.direct.gov.uk/greenpaper/foreword-by-the-secretaries-of-state/

You will see a familiar name there with lots of letters after the name......

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 17 Apr 2010 08:44

I spotted that too PSD. Do you remember Michael Foot being PM.....'cos I sure don't!! Cx.

For what it's worth Ann....

You can't gain an 'Honours' with a 'Masters' degree, you can gain a distinction in your final dissertation but you wouldn’t usually reference this anywhere except your CV maybe

Gaining a 'Doctorate' in itself automatically indicates you have two other previous degrees (BA/MA etc...)

You would normally reference your PhD by calling yourself 'Dr' and that would be sufficient enough

Edit; This of course may be different in other parts of the world!

Dr. David John Holdsworth M.A Hon's Phd says: 31 October 2009 at 3:19 amHave they lost the plot £30'000 is small fry to pay for the care of a loved one who has lived & worked in this country plus bought up afamily at the same time & now when they are unable to care for them selfs due to ill health you want to take away their dignity by removing their allowances with allow then to live with a little bit of dignity inn their old age.

My wife suffer a heart attack 3 yrs ago to day & has suffered ever since her conditions are geting worse all the time.

by reciving DLA & MOBILITY it enables us to live just a we bit better & hopefully longer.

I fought for this country of ours for 6 long years in far awy lands so that we could have a country to be proud off but this goverment has taken all our rights away from us.

Leave us alone some off us have to still call on charities to help us to live because the goverment dose not allow us enough to live on.

I have a number of illnesses which effect my every day needs but when i apply for addisional help they say I do not quilify but verious proffesionals say that I do.

Yes all forms completed by the professinals sent off but due to the resesion & goverment cut backs the departments are being told to turn down application left right & centre because they can not afford it.

Yet they award them selfs high pay rises expensess but can not help those who genuingly need it those on state benift.

Both my wife & I are coming up to 65yrs of age & there is no way that we could find the sum of £20,000 each a total of £40'000.

we would be better of dead leaving our inhertance to our children/grand children thank you britten I love you too my family have lived in england since the 5th centuary.

Oh dear, dear, dear.

I am interested in the point where it is stated 'I fought for this country of ours for 6 long years in far away lands'.........later......'I am coming up to 65 years of age' indicating this gentleman was born c1945...............????????

It just gets worse. Cx.
