Find Ancestors

I tried looking on the 1881 census for any females born between 1861 and 1865, born in Dit* Sur*. There are about 140 or so, but scanning down and ignoring daughters, there are sometimes surnames repeated for sisters who are in service.

There are two Whitman girls listed: one is Georgena Whitman age 17, and the other is this one

Although the entry is written clearly by the enumerator as Ann S Whitman age 19, I wonder if there was an error in arriving at the census entry, or have you managed to discount this one?

Alternatively, has she become Ann, since she is the eldest daughter of Ann? I see that James is a widower by 1881.

Ivy thanks for looking, Ann S Whetman (whitman) is Harriets older sister born 1861 ( and is my gt grandmother) so not her I'm afraid.

I am still in search of Harriet Louisa, if anyone has any further inspiration? The surname is often mistranscribed as Whiteman, or Whitman ( and has also been Whatman) but just cannot find Harriet after 1871. no marriage or death .

I have trawled through all the marriages of a 'Harriet Louisa ?' on Freebmd, Kingston and Surrey, likewise deaths and nothing as yet .

Giving this one last nudge...I have tried every combination i can think of in search facility (Ancestry and freebmd)
for Harriet Louisa Whetman.

Nothing after the 1871 ( see original post), no marriage, death, ...any ideas clever people?!

After this census Mary ( who is Mary Ann here but Mary Jane b 1869 Kingston, on freebmd) disappears just like her sister Harriet :-( There are two marriages, for a Mary Whetman 1890 and 1907...both I have looked at and discounted, the first because the birth year and location is out and the second because 'Whetman' is not the maiden name ( widow).

Any inspired ideas gratefully received
