If William Gardner folllowed the Scottish naming process ,then Peter Gardner was his Father.First born son after father's father .First daughter after Mother's Mother.In this case first daughter after William's Gran Janet Guild

There is a Burial Register for Perth cemeteries held in the Local Archives at the A K Bell Library in Perth, but it only starts in 1790s. However, the local archivists are very helpful and it would certainly be worth giving them a call to find out what else might be available (Perth & Kinross Council Archive, AK Bell Library, York Place, PERTH PH2 8EP Tel 01738 477012 Email [email protected]).

Also, this is what it says on the Perth & Kinross Council website:

There are 143 burial grounds and a crematorium administered by the Council.It is advisable to telephone ahead of any visit. Surviving registers are:

Isabel's parents were William McPherson and Ann McPherson nee Christie (deceased). Isabel died on 14/11/1883 in something?? Strathmiglo, age 67 years Father William McPherson, Mason (deceased) died of old age (not certified), informant possible Ken Campbell son in law. It does state Widow of William Gardiner something??? labourer.

I doubt his birth was c 1821 .Married in 1837.Isabella states 1851 census c1813 -5 years out.She is a widow by 1851. You need to see the filches for the deaths.

Unlikely Ellen if you read page one of the thread, you will see that in 1841 his birth was about 1821.
