Find Ancestors

Henry John Fison b c1822 in Paddington seems to be the son of William Fison and Maria Sabina Ruffell(Russell). However, William and Maria were married in 12/10/1828 some six years after the birth. They had a child Peter Fison in 1830 followed by Emily, Walter, Alfred etc. which seems a natural result of the marriage in 1828.
I can find no trace of the birth of Henry John Fison. He may have been the result of an earlier marriage of William or Maria but I can find no trace of this possibility.
Can anyone suggest how to resolve this problem.
