Good idea Tracey. I would've thought they would be in the areas mentioned as my aunts visits were usually limited to bus routes in those days. I know that Harold (Zenas dad) lived near Hartfield in Sussex later in life but whether that was after he and 'Nancy' had split i don't know. I reckon the children probably stayed with their mum in the Northampton area so that gives us a starting point for marriages of Zena.

I am also pm'ing you the next marriage of Zena, marrying as Zena S Pollard.

The next marriage is a few years after her husbands death, same place tho!

I agree brummiejan - birth certificate!!

IF she was a widow, is it possible that Richard was a child by the first marriage - in which case he wouldn't be a Young. That might possibly explain why she took him with her and left the others - the Young children had a living father who could object to the move, whereas Richard may not have done.

OK,

I have an address for a Zena S Burfield.

Living in Lancing, West Sussex.

Recency 15/10/2009

She's living alone tho...

I agree with these guys looks like she could be your lady with the marriage bits i have found.

The birth cert is only a few pounds considering the weight of thought not knowing if it's really her...

There are very few Zena S Young's anywhere.... the marriage and death of hubby and remarriage all tie in, so the birth that has been found for you, i would say in a good bet to be her!

Super - I'll give that a try. She would be 79 now so quite likely to be alone.

Have PM'd two possible male children of Zena Young from her first marriage - might be worth trying to track them down.

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 11 May 2010 22:10

There is a birth in Sussex of a Burfield/Young child.

It's not too long after the second marriage.....

Your help has been invaluable. It would've taken me hours if not days to find all that information. A big thank you to you and all the others who have contributed.
