William was my grandfather but all i know about my grandmother is that her name was probably Ann. She may have been his 3rd wife and they were married in Caberwell in 4th quarter of 1910. I know that there is a connection with the surname May but thats all. Can anyone help please. (this is my first time on the board so forgive me if I haven't given all the info you need

Hi all , I have no idea of the names of the other wives... but yes jonesy that is the marriage record but it does nt give grandmothers name so I am still flummoxed

Mum' birth cert doesn't give that only a small cert. I know that during the time between 1915 (mum,s birth) and 1927 when he died he was a caretaker in a block of flats in camberwell.

Any names of his children and approximate years of birth to help please - just want to make sure we get the correct William for you.

Here is 1910 marriage, but date of birth is wrong (should be c1859 from death record)

Wiiam had 2 children Elizabeth May Howard born 15.3.1915 and Henry Wilson Eliot Howard born24.4.1913. I am fairly sure that my grandmothers name was Ann. so that marriage record may not be the right one.

Hi jonesy, Yes my mother was Elizabeth May so her mother's maiden name must have been Teaster. this ties in with something that rang bells in my mind. I must have heard this name in my childhood because i have actually put in in my tree with a question mark. We really need to find her father's name and occupation to find her on census records.

Her marriage certificate will give that information and the same for William.

Grandmother died in 1926 in Camberwell. I don't know the exact date but I do know her birthday was 1st December. Is this any help?
