Hi Susan

Not sure whether you are still on here - but just wondered if you could tell me where you found the information about the christenings for the children - I have tried but can't find them

Many Thanks

Susan

Susan Report 21 May 2010 02:39

Hi Middy

I live in OZ so had to go to bed.
I have Ancestry Heritage Plus so I can get bapts and some marriage records around the London area.

I believe they are your family but it is strange that they did not bapts the others.

There are a few other births for a George and Mary ann but not in Brighton.

hi Susan

How lovely that you live in Australia, jealous!!!

I have Ancestry membership and have just checked and confirms it as Annual Premium Membership so I am guessing that ours are different, the christening records that you found I think are definately the right ones as it confirms the mum and dad aswell - can I be really cheeky and only if you don't mind and have the time, would you mind checking to see whether you can find the following for a christening.

Albert William or William Albert 1887 approx
Minnie 1886
William John or John William 1893
John Frederick or Frederick John 1894
Henry Herbert or Herbert Henry 1895

All Avery in Brighton

But only if you don't mind

Many Thanks xxx

George and Mary ann's marriage.

Surname First name(s) District Vol Page

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marriages Sep 1875 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Akehurst Mary Ann Brighton 2b 314 <<<
AVERY George Brighton 2b 314 <<<
Boys Ernest Benjamin Brighton 2b 314
Newman Katherine Brighton 2b 314

I am thinking maybe George did not have the same wife for all his children is that possible????.

I am finding births in Hasting's that may fit ,is it a possibility.
Sue

Edite

Sorry but none of those birth you asked me to look up are there for bapts,I did try all combos' for all of them.

I think Mary ann was the mother of all of them as they are all together in all census reports.
They just did not get all there children bapts.
