Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 23 May 2010 21:51

actually they dont have a daughter Alice as she was born before they married. i would say she is Fanny Lucy's daughter but not a Luckhurst. Have you bought certs or are you going on census info only .
Also Fanny married in 1886 and Dorothy is a Freed born 1895 so cant be Fanny's daughter also if you re look at the 1911 census posted for Fanny & James the info is only 1 child born to the marriage which died so it cant be Dorothy as she is still around !
I think you need to get some certs to put the family in order

this may be the answer to my link between the Maidstone Freed and the Ashford Freed. So far I have not been able to connect the 2 but this looks as if it crosses over from one to the other. Looks like she is one of the maidstone lot but grand daughter to the Ashford lot... yikes.

Think I need the birth certificate of Fanny Lucy to make certain who her parents are.

Little Lost

Little Lost Report 23 May 2010 19:34

perhaps luckhurst adopted her. I also have Fanny marrying Luckhurst and they have a daughter ALice, which is what you have also found.

Gee

Gee Report 23 May 2010 19:31

You need Dorothys birth certificate to confirm who the mother was

On the 1901 it says adopted and as you say on the 1911 it gives her as niece

This Dorothy I have as the daughter of unmarried Fanny Freed who later married James Luckhurst but it says niece here.

No she isnt william,s daughter as mum remarried in 1880 to George Pile and had just the one son Edward Pile c1881 ,. this agrees with the info they gave on the 1911 census . ie 1 child born still living
They have her a grandaughter on the 1891 census so bet she is the child of one of the elder Freed children Mary Ann maybe or Fanny Lucy . her birth cert is a necessary here for the info

Gee

Gee Report 23 May 2010 17:34

Hang on, am I being stupid here (dont answer that!) If Alice was born in 1885 as it looks thats the case, why is she born 'Freed' when William died in 1875?

OK, so Alice was one of William and Fannys children?

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 23 May 2010 17:32

SOO Edward PIle born c1881 is the son of George and Fanny so Alice Jane FREED born 1885 cant be their daughter,is probably one of Fanny's elder childrens child
